Posted this to my LJ already quite some time ago, but figured I’d share this here in tumblr as well :) Quoting from the said entry:

Okay so this will be about food this time. Or, restaurant recommendation to be exact.

I’ve been meant to write about this earlier, but somehow it has always managed to slip from my mind, but now I’m fiiinally gonna get this written down. I remembered the topic in plane from Fiumicino to Helsinki-Vantaa when they showed this show about restaurants and Michelin stars. (Btw, you guys know which city has the most Michelin starred restaurants in the world? U-hum, yeap, Tokyo it is. With over three times more so than New York or EVEN Paris O_O!) But no worries, this place I’m recommending today won’t be a 1000+ dollar for bread-kind of place, but you’ll have to go to Tokyo for dining in it.

So I’m talking about Soup Stock Tokyo.

As some of you may know, if you’re not into seafood, eating in Japan might get difficut sometimes. I personally love japanese cuisine, but travelling with a person who is extremely picky with food is a challenge (somehow me managed to eat japanese daily last time tho!). We found this place back in 2007 when we were strolling around Ginza and trying to find a cheap place to eat. Yeah I know right ;D? “Cheap” and “Ginza” don’t go very well together, but that is exactly where this gem is located. And of course when we went to Ginza last time, we just HAD to drop by the same store again.

Soup Stock basically has different sorts or karee (or curry, if you will) and well, soups on it’s menu. You’ll get a HUUUGE bowl of karee of your choice with large mug of soup + big glass of drink of your choice for 1100yen (=around 9-10euros), which isn’t really much from a meal of that size. Oh and Soup Stock is vegetarian friendly as well. And believe me when I tell you this; you won’t be feeling like snacking for a while after the meal.

What’s great about Soup Stock’s menu is that it’s very well fitting for any or at least finnish taste. My picky friend fell in love with their food, and so did I. Soooo yummy like omigosh. My fave meal there is seafood karee, lobster soup + ice tea. This particular restaurant in Ginza is rather small, and crowded at night time, but it has maqnificent view to the crossing in front of Ginza Station and The Clock. The staff is adorable (as always and everywhere in JPN), the service is fast and the food tastes fresh. And this is how the food looks in reality:

So if you’re heading to Tokyo, definitely drop by Soup Stock <3
Or at least check out their website, ahh the pics are making my mouth water.
